The government has implemented a special programme to ensure the continuous supply of fuel to all industries, including construction, manufacturing, exports, and services, Secretary to the Ministry of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development Thilaka Jayasundara said.
She made these remarks at a media briefing held today (27) at the Department of Government Information to update on the progress of the fuel supply programme for industrialists.
According to the Secretary, 2,846 industrialists from 20 sectors have submitted their fuel requirements since March 16, 2026. Of these, 2,551 requests have been recommended and forwarded to the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation.
She further stated that requests for less than 400 litres of fuel are being approved through Divisional Secretaries and directed to nearby fuel stations for distribution.
The Secretary emphasized that the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation is taking steps to ensure that industrialists receive the required fuel supply without disruption.
