Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism Vijitha Herath explored Thailand’s approaches to tourism promotion, destination development and heritage-based tourism during a visit to Bangkok.
As part of the programme, Minister Herath visited Bangkok’s historic Songwat neighbourhood, Asiatique The Riverfront and the Wat Pho temple to gain insights into Thailand’s development of heritage, cultural and lifestyle tourism experiences.
The engagements provided opportunities to learn from Thailand’s experience in developing diverse tourism products, integrating technology and promoting cultural heritage, with a view to adapting relevant approaches to further strengthen Sri Lanka’s tourism sector and international promotion.
