The ‘Sri Lanka Industries & Investment Forum 2026 – Brisbane’ was successfully held today (16) at the Park Regis Hotel in Brisbane, aimed at promoting new industrial, trade, export and investment opportunities in Sri Lanka among the Queensland business community.
Held under the theme ‘Discover a New Sri Lanka’, the forum featured a keynote address by Minister of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development Sunil Handunnetti, who outlined the Government’s ongoing economic and industrial transformation, investment incentives and measures to promote sustainable growth.
The Minister also highlighted the Government’s commitment to improving the ease of doing business, ensuring transparency and strengthening global partnerships.
Chairman and CEO of the Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB) Mangala Wijesinghe briefed participants on opportunities to expand exports between the two countries, develop new market links and strengthen cooperation between Queensland businesses and Sri Lanka’s manufacturing sector.
The forum brought together a large number of Australian investors, exporters, entrepreneurs and leading business representatives. Several productive bilateral discussions were also held on establishing long-term investment and business partnerships between Sri Lanka and Queensland.
