The low-level atmospheric disturbance still persists in the vicinity of Sri Lanka. Under influence of the system, cloudy skies and showers or thundershowers are expected at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva and Southern provinces, and in Ampara and Batticaloa districts. Heavy falls above 100 mm are likely at some places.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places elsewhere of the island after 1.00 p.m.
The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
