    President Gotabaya Rajapaksa said law enforcement officers should carry out their duties without any fear or favour, but their actions should strictly be in compliance with the law. He said that any arrests should be carried out only when absolutely necessary and in strict compliance of the law.

    Pioneering work on UNIDO’s new Country Program for Sri Lanka 2020-’24 commences today (January 24) in Colombo. “UNIDO interventions have a long history of industrial value chain development and improved quality infrastructure of Sri Lankan products. The new country program is based on industry and innovation related Sustainable Development Goals called SDG 9 framework” said Sri Lanka UNIDO Focal Point National Director Nawaz Rajabdeen yesterday.


    Multiple safety measures have been implemented including a Health Desk at the Bandaranaike International Airport against the deadly Coronavirus, Health Minister Pavithra Wanniaarachchi today informed the House.According to the Health Minister all passenger who are arriving at the BIA will be informed about the Health Desk prior to their descent along with instructions to seek the assistance of the medical team positioned at the desk if any passenger is feeling symptoms of the infection.
