The road segment between Kokmaduwa to Imaduwa of the Southern Expressway which was closed due to a landslide threat early Sunday morning has been reopened around 10am this morning.
This section of the expressway was closed temporarily on the advice of the National Building Research Organisation (NBRO) from midnight Thursday until 6:30 on Friday evening and was re-opened Friday evening due to improvement in rainfall.
However, the section of road was closed again on Friday afternoon due to the risk of landslides near the 114th kilometre post owing to heavy rainfall in the area.
