The Child Protection Authority has requested the public to use the telephone number 1929 for complaints related only to child abuse.
The Child Protection Authority said that lodging other complaints on this telephone line has become a major problem.
The Authority said that this has made it difficult to lodge complaints about child abuse over this telephone connection.
Therefore the Child Protection Authority requests the public to use telephone number 1929 for complaints related only to child abuse.
The Government official news portal is maintains by the New Media Unit of the Department of Government Information and it was titled "news.lk" and commenced in mid1996 and release to Internet from March 01st, 1997.
