    Seminar on 'Bilateral Trade between Sri Lanka & South Africa' on October 23

    The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka (NCCSL) will hold a session on "Bilateral Trade between Sri Lanka & South Africa". The seminar will be held on Friday 23 October 2015 from 3.00 to 4.30 p.m. at the Chamber Auditorium on D R Wijewardene Mawatha in Colombo.

    High Commissioner of South Africa G.Q.M Doidge will grace the occasion as the Special Guest Speaker.

     

    At the session the members will get an opportunity to discuss business related issues and any other information with regard to business and other services available in South Africa.

     

    South Africa is a middle-income, emerging market with an abundant supply of natural resources; well-developed financial, legal, communications, energy, and transport sectors, and a stock exchange that is Africa's largest and among the top 20 in the world.

     

    Exports from Sri Lanka to South Africa has increased to US$ 33.16 million in 2014.

     

    Exports to South Africa include tea, retreated or used pneumatic tires of rubber, apparel, natural rubber, new pneumatic tires of rubber, and raw bristle fiber of coconut (coir) while potential export products to South Africa include semi-precious jewelry, pearls, semi-precious stones, surgical gloves, and footwear.
