The farmers’ organization - Pahalaweva Govi Sanvidhaanaya - has urged the Department of Agrarian Development to rehabilitate it without delay as a cluster of paddy-fields located beyond the town depend on the Pahalaweva reservoir for water.

The Pahalaweva rural reservoir in Dambulla will be rehabilitated. According to local farmers it has not been properly maintained over the recent past, and it is in a deplorable condition.
