Visitors make Haggala Gardens a garbage dump

    December 29, 2015

The Haggala Gardens is one of the most attractive tourist locations. Following the long weekend holidays, Haggala Gardens was full of tourists. However, its beauty has been destroyed by a large number of local as well as foreign tourists who had visited the Gardens during the last long weekend. The manner in which the gardens had been polluted indicates that they had not enjoyed the beauty of the creepers and colourful flowers. If they did so they would not have polluted the gardens in front of their eyes. It has already become a garbage dump.

It is a fact that these things do not get decomposed and they stay in our environment for hundreds of years polluting our land and the whole ecosystem. This ruins the habitat of living organisms and also causes pollution. The non-biodegradable waste creates other environmental problems too. It results in release of synthetic chemicals and noxious gases into the atmosphere which can be very harmful and even fatal for the living organisms, humans and animals alike.

It should be mentioned that it is opportune to prevent the destruction of the environment through real conceptual changes in mankind. The society has the capacity to make a difference in the way the environment is used for human well-being.
