The Atomic Energy Regulatory Commission has taken initiatives to issue a new permit effective from the 01st of January on behalf of a radiation free Sri Lanka. The Commission says it will hand in severe punishment to those who violate the permit law.
Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya said that the Atomic Energy Regulatory Commission has already begun to issue the new permit.
The Energy Regulatory Commission has emphasized that it would seal institutions operating without the new license or violating the Radiation Act. In addition to imposing a fine and indicting them, the permit would be cancelled so that it could not be regained.
The Government official news portal is maintains by the New Media Unit of the Department of Government Information and it was titled "news.lk" and commenced in mid1996 and release to Internet from March 01st, 1997.
