He said the government will introduce the new process by the June this year with the objective of minimizing the shortage of supplies reported in hospitals across the island. A pilot project will be introduced to purchase medicine via internet, the Minister noted. He also pointed out that a new price formula will be implemented for which several companies have given their consent.

The Minister made these observations addressing an event held at the Colombo National Hospital.
