The Government has taken steps to construct two elevated highways linking Kelaniya, Colombo and Rajagiriya.
The Ministry of Higher Education and Highways said that one highway will have a distance of 6.9 km and will connect the Kelaniya bridge and Rajagiriya while the second highway will have a distance of 5.8 km and will connect the Kelaniya bridge and the Colombo Port.
The Cabinet has approved the proposal made by Ministry of Higher Education and Highways.
The Government official news portal is maintains by the New Media Unit of the Department of Government Information and it was titled "news.lk" and commenced in mid1996 and release to Internet from March 01st, 1997.
