    Plantation worker wage issue discussed.

    A meeting was held to solve the issues relating to the wages of Plantation workers at the Auditorium of the Plantation Ministry in the presence of Minister Naveen Dissanayaka recently.

    At the meeting the following decisions were taken which includes the increased wage of Rs 730 to be paid from October 15, The workers should at least work for 250 days and it was agreed to sign the collective agreement before October 14. 


    Labour Minister John Seneviratne, State Minister for Labour Ravindra Samaraweera as well as Member of Parliament and Chief Secretary National Estate Workers Association Vadiveil Suresh participated in the discussions.
