The report prepared by the Northern Provincial Council was handed over to Northern Province Governor G.A. Chandrasiri by Chief Minister C.V. Wigneswaran at a ceremony held at Jaffna Vembady Girls’ College.

The event commenced with Pongal to mark the beginning of the month of Adi (July).  

Aadi Pirappu songs and cultural dances were also held.  Aadi Pirappu is the famous Tamil festival  celebrated in the month of July (Aadi).
