There is a high possibility of afternoon thundershowers in the Eastern, Uva, Northern and North-Central provinces today and tomorrow (23rd and 24th Aug.), Met. Department said. Cloudy skies can be expected in most parts of the island.
Showers or thundershowers may occur at several places in the Eastern, Uva, Northern and North-Central provinces after 2.00 p.m. Fairly heavy falls (about 50 mm) can be expected in some places particularly in Trincomalee, Batticaloa, Mullativu, Vavuniya, Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa districts.
Several spells of light showers will occur in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, North-western and Southern provinces.
