A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU ) was entered between Sri Lanka Parliamentarians Forum for Evaluation and Information and Communication Technology Agency (ICTA) of Sri Lanka to cooperate in developing an environment to collect, use and disseminate data for monitoring, evaluation and decision making at district, provincial and national level.
ICTA will support in incorporating ICT/digital technologies for monitoring and evaluation of development interventions implemented at the district and divisional secretariat offices through developing a comprehensive database/ software systems and conducting required monitoring and evaluation related capacity building programs for the government officials especially at district level.
The Government official news portal is maintains by the New Media Unit of the Department of Government Information and it was titled "news.lk" and commenced in mid1996 and release to Internet from March 01st, 1997.
News.lk publishes in three languages – Sinhala, Tamil and English.
