The ‘National Dengue Prevention Week’ will be held from 20th -26th of September to check dengue mosquito breeding grounds, said Director General of Health Services Dr. Jayasundara Bandara.
In parallel to this program, a Dengue breeding check up card will also be issued to each home.
Dr. Bandara said that this national program will be held island-wide and is supported by the Tri forces, Sri Lanka Police as well the public.
As Dengue has been controlled, it is essential to continue in this manner for another five months and the active support of the public is needed in this regard, he added.
