Met Department predicts thundershowers in the afternoon

Showers or thundershowers will occur over most provinces (particularly in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, Central, North-western and Uva provinces) of the islandafter 2.00 p.m.

Showers or thundershowers may occur in the coastal areas of Southern province and Ampara district in the morning too.Fairly heavy falls (above 75mm) can be expected at some places, particularly in the in Western and Southern provinces.

Misty conditions can be expected at some places in the Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces during the morning.There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers. General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity.
