Low price sand from GSMB

The Geological Survey and Mines Bureau (GSMB) with the purpose of bringing the price down, has taken steps to provide sand required for constructions at a concessionary price.

 

Accordingly, one cube of sand valued at Rs. 18, 000 will be sold Rs. 5, 000 lesser from its Gampaha office from August this year.

 

The program is implemented on the instructions of President Maithripala Sirisena and a meeting in this regard was held at the Bureau’s Gampaha office on last Monday (9th July) under the patronage of Deputy Minister of Environment Ajith Mannapperuma.

 

Participating at this meeting, the Chairman of the GSMB Asela Iddawela also said that they had planned to introduce concessionary prices for the construction materials including crushed stones.
