The new project at Siththankerni village, Jaffna was named after ‘Park Joonho International Kindergarten’ as a tribute to the sponsors, Mr. Park Joohno and Mrs. Park Suk Ja of South Korea and their fellow-donors.
The pre-school, a long-felt need for parents and kids in that area was made a reality through the initiatives, taken by the Commander Security Forces – Jaffna (SF-J), Major General Darshana Hettiarrachchi who took up the issue with the visiting Buddhist monk some time ago. It was vested in the civilians during a ceremony on Tuesday (18).
Hon. State Minister of Education, Dr. V S Radhakrishnan as the Chief Guest opened the new building. Hon. Minister of Education of Tamil Nadu K A Sengottaiyan, Commander Security Forces – Jaffna (SF-J), Major General Darshana Hettiarrachchi and a large gathering of civilians, state officials and Army personnel were present during the opening ceremony.
