Women Empowered with Supply of More Push Bicycles

With the sheer objective of empowering the less-privileged in general areas of Jaffna, troops of the 552 Brigade under the 55 Division coordinated the distribution of a stock of push bicycles among the most deserving during a simple ceremony at Thaleiadi Roman Catholic Tamil Mixed School in Jaffna.

Under the programme for empowerment of less-privileged women, ‘Foundation of Goodness’ (Guna Jaya Sathuta Padanama) of Mr Kushil Gunasekara has donated 25 more push bicycles for distribution in the area to the value of about Rs 1.5 lakhs at the request of the Army.

Ms Fazana Ibrahim, Managing Directress of Foundation of Goodness, together with 552 Brigade Commander, senior officers and civilians in the area took part in the distribution ceremony following directions given by Brigadier S.K Thirunaukarasu, General Officer Commanding, 55 Division. (SL Army/ ST)
