    Pakistan's Head of Joint Chiefs calls on Army Commander

    Visiting  Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), Pakistan, General Rashad Mahmood,, paid a courtesy call on the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake on Wednesday (9) morning at Army Headquarters.

    A Guard of Honour at the Ministry of Defence grounds adjoining the Army Headquarters premises presented arms and saluted the visiting Pakistan military chief in accordance with military traditions.    


    During the cordial meeting both General Rashad Mahmood and Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake shared views on several current issues that are relevant to the region and both Army organizations. Lieutenant General Ratnayake extended his appreciation to the Pakistan Army for the assistance rendered to the Sri Lankan Army  in the training of its officers.


    On Thursday (10) Gen.Mahmood will fly to Sri Lanka Military Academy (SLMA) at Diyatalawa and meet senior officers there in order to learn more about the academic aspect of the SLMA and its different training programmes.


    During his stay, he is scheduled to visit Jaffna, Anuradhapura and a few other places in Colombo.
