Work Begin After New Year at Army Headquarters

The Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake together with senior officers on Wednesday  morning (16) inaugurated the first formal working day of the New Year at Army Headquarters during a brief ceremony.

Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake after lighting the traditional oil lamp invited everyone to partake of the traditional goodies laid on tables such as Milk Rice (Kiribath), kevum, kokis and other sweetmeats.

 

The Commander of the Army used the occasion to extend his best wishes to everyone present and interacted with them exchanging pleasantries.  
 
Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake also paid his customary visit to the Military Hospital at Narahenpita on account of the dawn of Sinhala and Tamil New Year.  He visited all the wards and spoke to the inmates receiving treatment and gave away gift parcels as token of New Year greeting. (Defence.lk)
