    Resurgence in Ayurveda due to benefits given by the Budget

    The Government to allocate 500 million rupees to upgrade Ayurveda hospitals and research centres. A montly allowance of 5,000/- rupees will be given to Ayurveda doctors. A loan of 500 thousand rupees, at a concessionary interest rate of six percent will be granted to Ayurveda doctors to develop their private dispensaries in order to broaden the service.

    North Central Province Ayurveda Commissioner – Dr. Kumara Alwis said that the President has allocated funds for postgraduate studies of Ayurveda doctors. He said that the budget has set apart financial allocations to protect the health of the people.

     

    Dr. Ajith Kumara said that the President is the only leader who removed anomalies in the Ayurveda sector and gave its due place. He said that there would be a resurgence in Ayurveda due to the benefits given by the budget. (ST/KH)
