Special Police Unit to deal with religious activities declared open

The Special Police Unit to investigate into complaints with regard to religious activities was declared open on Monday under the auspices of Prime Minister D.M. Jayaratne.

The spexial police unit  established on a directive of the President is located at  the premises of the Ministry of Buddha Sasana and Religious Affairs.

 

Addressing the media at the inaugural ceremony, Inspector General of Police N.K. Illangakoon said that complaints can be lodged at this unit by any person in the country.

 

Complaints can be lodged with this unit via telephone numbers:  0112 30 76 74  and 0112 30 76 94 during office hours.

The fax numbers are 0113 30 76 88 and 0112 30 74 06.
