Scholarships to Students from Destitute families

Security Force Jaffna (SF-J), on the initiative of SF-J Commander Major General Udaya Perera gave 205 scholarships to students from low income families on Wednesday (14). Handing over the bank pass books with financial deposit to recipients took place during the Vesak Bhakthi Gee at the “Yapa Patunai Daham Amavai – 2014” Vesak Zone.

Students received their scholarships from SF-J Commander and other distinguished guests present at the Vesak Zone.

 

At the same time, a cow and a calf saved from being slaughtered were handed over to Nadaraja Sivaraj of Nallur by the Security Force. The handing over cattle to destitute families in Jaffna will take place for seven days during the Vesak week at the Vesak Zone.
