Officers of the Animal Quarantine Division at the Airport examined the health conditions of these animals. Thereafter these horses were transported to the Police Mounted Divisions in Colombo and Kandy.

Eighteen new horses have been brought to Sri Lanka for the Sri Lanka Police Mounted Division from the Netherlands. These eighteen horses belonging to a special species were brought to the island in a special cargo plane to the Katunayake International Airport.
