A Committee to propose measures to prevent child abuse

A proposal to appoint a committee to propose suitable measures for the prevention of escalating child abuses was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers, Cabinet Spokesperson Dr. Rajitha Senaratne said at the weekly Cabinet briefing held at the Government Information Department today (23).

As per the proposal made by Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe,the Members of the committee are:-

Thilak Marapana, Minister of Law and Order and Prison Reforms (Chairman)
Wijeyadasa Rajapaksha, Minister of Justice
Ms.Chandrani Bandara, Minister of Women and Child Affairs
Ms.Maheswaran Wijayakala, State Minister of Child Affairs
Ms.Sudarshini Fernandopulle, State Minister of City Planning and Water Supply
