    People will be allowed to go outside to make  essential purchases and to attend to vital activities based on the last digit of their National Identity Card (NIC) numbers, the President's Media Division said.

    The Curfew currently in force in Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara and Puttlam districts will continue until May 04 while curfew in all other districts will be relaxed at 5.00 am on Monday April 27 and will be re-imposed at 8.00 pm on the same day.

    Foreign Secretary Ravinatha Aryasinha has observed that even as the Foreign Ministry was preoccupied with endeavouring to mitigate a multitude of problems faced by Overseas Sri Lankans, it was in parallel also seeking to re-position Sri Lanka’s exports in the context of market conditions that have arisen as a result of the COVID-19 crisis. He said if this was successful, Sri Lanka would emerge one step ahead in the global supply chain, in a post COVID-19 world.

    In assistance to the Navy’s quarantine programme to control the spread of coronavirus in the country a stock of required healthcare outfits and equipment was donated to the SL Navy, at the Naval Headquarters, (24thApril 2020).
