The Government of Sri Lankan is committed to protect and sustainably manage natural resources, President Gotabaya Rajapaksa said addressing the United Nations Summit on Biodiversity Yesterday (Sep;30).

“Sri Lanka is located in a place of strategic importance. Therefore, our country is attracted to many parties. In this context, Sri Lanka has chosen neutrality as its foreign policy. Our top most priority is mutually beneficial development cooperation. This country is open for foreign investments”, President Gotabaya Rajapaksa said during a brief cordial conversation with four newly appointed Ambassadors to Sri Lanka following presentation of their credentials at the President’s House Sep;(30).

Unforgetful of gallantry and sacrifices they made in the battlefield and giving prioritized attention, Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army, just a few minutes after the day’s main religious ceremony at Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi was over, straight away proceeded to the ‘Abhimansala - 1’ (wellness resort) at Anuradhapura where some 40 dependent War Heroes are receiving rehabilitation and recuperation for the rest of their lives. The customary practice coincided with the forthcoming Army Day anniversary commemorations.
