    With the arrival (30 April) evening of UL 1188 carrying 125 Sri Lankan students from Kolkata, the operation to bring home 1065 Sri Lankan students based in the South Asian  region, over 10 days, reached a successful conclusion.

    Considering the difficulties faced by some customers of financial institutions affected by the COVID-19 pandemic to obtain certain relief measures, the Central Bank of Sri Lanka has extended the deadline (30.04.2020) for submitting requests for debt moratoriums and 4% per annum refinancing facility for two months working capital, until 15 May 2020.

    The Health Services Director General Dr. Anil Jasinghe said that nine persons infected with the Coronavirus was detected today. Out of the nine cases five are those who had associated closely with the infected Navy personnel. One other infected person was reported from Colombo and the other three are Navy personnel.
