    Sri Lankan Young Parliamentary Delegation Visited Beijing

    A Sri Lankan young parliamentary delegation visited Beijing from Oct 27 to 28 met with Mr. Li Jun, Assistant Minister of International Department, Central Committee of CPC, and Mr. Wang Xiaochu, Vice Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of National People's Congress. Mr. Sun Guoxiang, Chinese Special Envoy of Asia affairs and former Ambassador of China to Sri Lanka, also hold talks with the visiting MPs, a release from the Chinese Embassy said.

    The Chinese officials introduced the political and legislative system of China, the achievements of China's development during the past decades as well as China's friendly policy towards Sri Lanka. Both sides highly appraised the long-standing friendship between the two countries and between the CPC and Sri Lankan parties. The two sides agreed to strengthen communication and cooperation to further enhance the development of bilateral relations.

     

    The Sri Lanka young parliamentarian delegation led by  Anuradha Jayaratne, Deputy Minister of Mahaweli Development and Environment,
    consisting of 19 young MPs of different parties and Parliament Officials, will also pay visits to the cities of Guang Zhou, Shenzhen and Kunming.
