    Navy to release 100 acres of land for the Mullikulam people

    In line with the President's vision to resettle displaced personnel in the Northern and Eastern provinces, Sri Lanka Navy will release approximately 100 acres of land to the public in Mullikulam, Navy media said.

    The Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne had assured the families in Mullikulam to release the above lands during on an inspection visit to the Northwestern Naval Area on Saturday (29th April).

     

    As a result of the discussion, the public living in Mullikulam had agreed to settle around 100 acres of agricultural land in the vicinity of the 'Our Lady of Assumption Parish Council' Church, in lieu of 300 acres that the Navy had earlier consented to release.

     

    During the meeting, Navy had also assured the fullest support for the immediate settlement process and to continue with their welfare projects in the area.
