    Army continues blood testing for Dengue

    The army established medical laboratory near Negombo Hospital has completed 1,500 free screening of blood samples for civilians for Dengue fever by Thursday (6th July), states army media.

    Operations of the newly built medical laboratory are conducted by the Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps (SLAMC) with their medical equipment.

     

    The requirement was highlighted by the President during his recent visit to the Negombo Hospital. Responding to the urgent matter, army also built two extra wards with the laboratory to assist dengue patients since the number of dengue patients in the area showed an increase.

     

    Army with the help from Navy built the laboratory within 2-3 days to assist medical authorities of the Negombo Hospital. Financial assistance for the project had been provided by the Presidential Secretariat.
