He took his letter of appointment from the Governor of Uva Province M. P. Jayasinghe on 10th August at the Presidential Secretariat, in the presence of President Maithripala Sirisena.

Meanwhile, the President appointed MP Thenuka Vidanagamage as the Co-organizer of the Mahiyangana Divisional Development Committee. Mr. Vidanagamage took his letter of appointment from the President at the Presidential Secretariat.
