State Minister of Finance Eran Wickremaratna said that the government’s health policy is centered around the people and not the doctor.
He made these comments joining the debate on the National Drug Regulatory Authority Act in parliament yesterday (22nd Sept.).
“We know that there is a drug mafia. Drugs were imported by their name and sold for a higher price. From 1976 -2017 a drug policy could not be introduced but the present Health Minister Dr Rajitha Senaratna achieved it. He was able to reduce the price of 48 drugs”, he said.
