More powers to finance commission

The government has decided to prepare a finance commission Act to promote the role of the commission by giving more powers to play a major role according to the Constitution of Sri Lanka.

On the proposal of President Maithripala Sirisena, the Cabinet of Minister has decided to instruct the Legal Draftsman to draft a bill on this regard. The recommendation made by the subcommittee appointed on this subject also consider in this process.
