    First batch of returnees who underwent quarantine process under security forces head home

    The first batch of those who returned to the country from overseas and underwent the quarantine procedure under the supervision of the security forces and health authorities had left the quarantine centre and headed home today (24).

    According to Military Spokesman Brigadier Chandana Wickramasinghe, the group of 311 who had returned to the country from Italy, Iran and South Korea had left the quarantine centre after successfully completing their quarantine period amidst all facilities provided by the security forces.

    The Sri Lanka Army and the Health Ministry had implemented a special plan for them to return to their respective areas.
     
    Accordingly, 203 returnees who underwent the quarantine procedure at the Punani Quarantine Centre and 108 who were quarantined at the Kandakadu centre had left these centres.Meanwhile, with the first Sri Lankan Coronavirus patient making a complete recovery and being released from the IDH, Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi commended the Sri Lankan Health Service as a strong service during her media briefing yesterday.
     
    There are 3548 persons being quarantined at 45 centres and the first group to undergo quarantine procedures will leave the centres after their final medical checks are conducted today, the Head of the National Operation Centre for the Prevention of Covid-19 Lt. Gen Shavendra Silva said yesterday.
