    Unless for Essential Services, Entry into Colombo District Discouraged- Head NOCPCO

    Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva, Head of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID -19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) in a video clip released to the Media this evening (19) had this to say:

    "63 more quarantined personnel in Army-managed Quarantine Centre (QC) at Punani left for homes (16) after completion of PCR tests.

    Up to-date, 4143 personnel after completion of quarantining in tri service-managed Quarantine Centers have left for homes. As of today, 1563 individuals are undergoing quarantine process in 19 QCs.

    Today, we found 15 more COVID-19 positive patients, all of them being close associates, family members and relatives of the lady who was earlier confirmed positive for COVID-19 from Kotahena.

    As already intimated by the President's Media, there will be a relaxation of curfew hours in some districts from 5.00 am to 8.00 pm from April (20).

    Since curfew in Colombo district will remain for two more days, the general public are urged to avoid arriving in Colombo except for essential important services. The previous guidelines related to curfew hours and essential services will remain unchanged further."
