    More & More Sri Lankans Expected to Be Repatriated- Head NOCPCO

    The routine Media interaction at the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) at Rajagiriya took place yestarday afternoon (20), headed by Mrs Pavithradevi Wanniarachchi, Minister of Health and Indigenous Medical Services, Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva, Head of the NOCPCO, Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army and Medical Specialist, Dr Anil Jasinghe, Director General of Health Services.

     

    “230 individuals who underwent quarantining at tri service-managed Jetwing Lagoon (54), Jetwing Blue (27), Waskaduwa Cytrus (62), Hotel Dolphin (2) Maduru Oya (77) Galle Police Building (5) Belwood Kandy (2) and Navy Ruwala (1) Quarantine Centres (QCs) after conduct of PCR tests on them left for their residences today (20) with Quarantine Certificates

    By May(20), a total of 10103 quarantined individuals from tri service-managed Quarantine Centres (QCs) have left for their homes. As of now, 3519 persons are still in quarantine in 37 island-wide QCs, run by tri-services.

    As of May (20), heroic sailors of the Navy confirmed positive to the COVID-19 virus stand at 578 in total. Of them, 221 after recovery and PCR tests were discharged. A total of 357 sailors, infected with COVID-19 are still receiving treatment in hospitals,

    More and more individuals are to be flown to Sri Lanka in the next couple of days from countries, like Russia and her neighbouring countries. No aircraft brought down anyone within the day (20) and they all are to be taken to Army -managed Quarantine Centres (QCs) for quarantine process,” Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva said.
