    New Govt's development programmes from next January

    The new Government is committed to develop the country while winning the confidence of all communities in the country, said President Maithripala Sirisena.

    He further said that the government has received enormous support in this regard nationally as well as internationally and that the new government's Development programs will be implemented dynamically from next January.

     

    He made these observations participating at a ceremony held to lay the foundation for a two storied building at the Muslim Central College, Kaduruwela on Sunday (18) under the “Pibidemu Polonnaruwa' District Development Programme.

     

    The President stressed that the best investment for the future is investing in education. Therefore, the government is launching a proper mechanism to offer the best education for students by upgrading every school to a level of a developed school.

     

    President Sirisena added that it is not a healthy situation for a developing country when its development plans change from time to time due to political decisions. Therefore, it is a timely need to bring the country forward with a common mechanism, which is free from politics.

     

    The President, while highlighting the need of identifying development priorities said that several four-lane carpeted-roads constructed during the last regime are not properly utilized because of the failure to identify the development priorities prior to commencing those development projects.

     

    The government is engaged in building a conducive environment suitable for the people of every ethnicity to live peacefully and happily in a brotherhood. No room will be left to have a conflict again, he said. Unlike the past no room will be left for ethnic hatred, he stressed.

     

    The students warmly welcomed the President when he arrived at the Muslim Central College, Kaduruwela.

     

    President Sirisena unveiled the plaque to mark the construction of the two storied building at the School.

     

    Peshala Jayarathna- Chief Minister of the North Central Provincial Council , Parliamentarians Siripala Gamlath and Nalaka Kolonne were also present.
