    President worships Sithulpawwa Raja Maha Vihara

    President Rajapaksa visited the historic Sithulpawwa Raja Maha Vihara which is getting ready to celebrate the Poson Festival and observed religious rites at the Vihara on Tuesday (10).

    The President who initially offered flowers and Kiripindu to the newly constructed Samadhi Buddha Statue, called on the Chief Incumbent of the Sithulpawwa Raja Maha Vihare the Ven. Metaramba Hemarathana Nayake Thera. President offered Pirikara to the Thera and inquired into his wellbeing.

     

    The President spoke with the devotees who were present at the vihara. and also gave fruits to the Gemunu tusker who regularly visits the Sithulpawwa Raja Maha Vihare. Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa and Presidential Chief of Staff Gamini Senarath accompanied the President.
