The Godage Senior Writers Award ceremony jointly organized by the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC) and Sirisumana Godage Publications was held under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena at the SLBC’s auditorium, yesterday (20th July).
During this event 15 senior writers, including authors and journalists received felicitation awards from the President and the winners of the ‘Penayata Pilithuru’ competition held at school level, were also presented awards by the President.
This Award Ceremony was organized for the fourth consecutive year, with the aim of encouraging the senior writers and authors. The awards were given to writers representing all the ethnic groups.
The Government official news portal is maintains by the New Media Unit of the Department of Government Information and it was titled "news.lk" and commenced in mid1996 and release to Internet from March 01st, 1997.
