He has made this announcement at a discussion with Provincial Councils and Local Governments Minister Faizer Musthapa, Chairman of Elections Commission Mahinda Deshapriya and Delimitation Commission Chairman Ashoka Peiris held at the Parliament.
Speaker Karu Jayasuriya has informed the relevant institutions to get ready to hold the elections according to the government’s promise of holding Local Government elections before the end of January and Provincial Council elections before the end of March.
