    President abolishes taxes on Financial Institutions

    President Mahinda Rajapaksa has decided to abolish taxes on state/private banks, financial institutions employees' perks imposed by Special Gazette 1857/8 following a meeting with representatives of the Bank of Ceylon Employees' Union at Temple Trees on Monday (21).

     

    With this decision the tax imposed on the interests on housing loans, distress loans, vehicle loans, overtime allowances of employees of private and public banks, financial institutions, insurance institutions, etc will be removed.
