    Guidance needed for better society expressed in Tripitaka, Bible, Quran and Bhagavad Gita – President Featured

    President Maithripala Sirisena says all the parties must fulfill their respective duties to build a better society within a religious environment as, principles and guidance needed to achieve this goal is included in the Tripitaka, Bible, Quran as well as in the Bhagavad Gita.He made these remarks participating in the annual prize giving ceremony of the Holy Cross College in Gampaha, yesterday (26th).

    President Sirisena pointed out the importance of raising children to succeed in their life in a similar manner they win the examinations. He also said that it is a must to enhance spiritual characteristic qualities by students.

    The President further said that all must unite to build our young generation rich with knowledge and spiritual qualities in an environment where the government is fulfilling comprehensive task to strengthen the free education of the country.The students of the school welcomed the President warmly when he arrived at the venue.

    Then the President participated in the annual prize giving ceremony where College Colours were awarded to the outstanding students who have performed well and have brought great honour to the college representing different fields.The annual report of the college was presented to the President while the Principal of the college Rev. Sr. Darshika presented a special token of appreciation to the President.
