    Ranbima Deeds to 5000 families Featured

    The national ceremony to present 'Ranbima Deeds" to landless families in accordance with 'Mahinda Chinthana Vision for the Future" was held under the patronage of President Mahinda Rajapaksa at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium on Tuesday (19).

    In a symbolic gesture the President as the Chief Guest handed over deeds to some of the recipients during the ceremony.  Altogether 5000 deeds were distributed covering the whole island.

     

    President Mahinda Rajapaksa speaking at the ceremony held at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium today (20)  said that the government will never stop the targeted forward march for the welfare of common masses. The government is committed to provide benefits to all segment of the society.

     

    This programme is being Implemented by the Land Reform Commission and since 2007 it has granted 50,000 title deeds for landless families. The president further said that the government's next target of  providing pure drinking water to each and every household in the country too will be achieved in the near future. (kh)
