All Grade Five Scholarship passed students should receive their monthly grant at due time and any untoward delays would be severely dealt with, Education Minister Bandula Gunawarderna said in Parliament today.
The Minister said so while responding to a query raised by UNP Ratnapura District MP Thalatha Atukorale.
Minister Gunawardena said that President Mahinda Rajapaksa had proposed in Budget 2015 to increase the scholarship grant provided to each student from Rs 500 to Rs 1,500 and the increased grant would be paid to 25,000 scholarship passed students with effect from the next January.
