The President who went to the residence of late Abeysundara, at Dampe, Madapatha in Piliyandala Sunday paid his last respects to the senior journalist. Abeysundara/who passed away on last Friday.

He was a veteran journalist who searched for new avenues in newspaper journalism for decades and was able to introduce a new dimension to column writing. The Late Abeysundara rendered a significant service to ITN news from its inception. “Viparama” and “Vimasuma” special segments written by him became very popular among the people.

Abeysundara was the Chief Editor of Dinamina newspaper and was working as an Editorial Consultant of the Lake House at the time of his demise.

The funeral of late Mahinda Abeysundare will be held at Madapatha Cemetery in Piliyandala Monday(Dec.01) afternoon.
